FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BEIJING, November 29, 2007 -- The Crown Worldwide Group, a worldwide leader of global mobility, relocation services, transportation, storage and logistics, recently moved its Beijing business to a newly constructed, 20,700 square meter (222,815 square feet) building just 35 minutes from the center of Beijing. The new Beijing Ultracenter, covering over four acres of land, is located in Tongzhou Logistics Park, which is adjacent to the Beijing Development Area (BDA) and is one of China's biggest and most established corporate parks. The new facility, along with the business throughout Northern China and Mongolia, is wholly owned by Crown Worldwide and managed by Jimmy Thompson. A fluent Mandarin speaker, Thompson was born in Japan and raised in Hong Kong. For the past eight years, he has been living and working in Beijing. Thompson commented, “The team at Crown’s Beijing Ultracenter will provide third-party logistics for the hospitality and retail industries, logistics for the oil and gas industry and storage of fine artworks, wine and other high value items. Service offerings include the latest radio-frequency identification technologies (RFID) as well as temperature and humidity control systems. The three-story building features 24-hour security, closed-circuit television (CCTV) and special facilities for business document management and household goods storage. With this Ultracenter, Crown has taken another step toward its ultimate goal of being the best service provider across all of Crown's businesses: Relocations, Records Management, Logistics and Fine Arts.” Crown first set up business in Beijing in 1986, as a representative office. In 2005, the company received a Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA) business license. This arrangement between mainland China and Hong Kong makes Crown the first Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprise (WOFE) relocation company in China; enabling the company to operate in Beijing, freely employ its own staff, operate its own facilities and vehicles, and establish direct contractual relations with customers. This certificate strengthens Crown’s service delivery and brings added value to customers who already benefit from Crown’s large network of 12 major facilities throughout China. # # # Asia-Pacific Contact Susanne Osterholm Hong Kong (852) 2876 2678 sosterholm@crownworldwide.com Worldwide/Americas Contact Europe/Middle East/Africa Contact | |||
