CROWN RECORDS MANAGEMENT CELEBRATES 25 YEARS SERVING RECORDS MANAGEMENT CLIENTS

Twenty-five Years Have Made Crown the Number One Private Records Management Company in the World

Hong Kong, July 16, 2008—Crown Records Management, the world’s number one private business information storage company, celebrates 25 years in the industry. This division of the Crown Worldwide Group was created in 1983, following the increase in demand for storage and management of physical and electronic business information. Crown used its experience in secure storage, on-time delivery and tracking technology to offer records management services.

Today, Crown Records Management manages business records across 50 countries, operating from over 200 management centers. Crown manages over 20 million cubic feet of cartonsenough to create a chain longer than the Great Wall of China (4,000 miles).

Jim Thompson, Crown Worldwide chairman commented, "Twenty-five years ago we received the first carton of documents to manage for a major account. Today we have twenty million cartons under management for a vast number of corporate and private clients and we are continuing to increase that volume every year. The management of business records is an increasingly vital part of the operation of all businesses and we're proud that we are a major global provider of this important service."

Over the years, many of Crown’s global management centers have earned the ISO 9001 certification for quality certification and more recently, the ISO 14000 environmental management standards certification. The certification exists to help organizations minimize their operation's negative effect—changes to air, water or land—on the environment and to help them comply with local regulations. Additional management centers are in the process of earning this certification.

Crown has not only observed but has participated in the evolution of the records management industry, and has adapted and enhanced its services to meet the changing needs of its clients. Today, Crown provides all the traditional services such as storage of hard copies and electronic information, scanning, imaging, data conversion, data hosting, escrow and destruction services, but equally important, provides consultative services and retention-policy counseling to help its clients adapt to an ever changing world.
