Damian Cross moved to Crown Malaysia, in 2002, from the UK where he worked for five years in the food-production industry, supplying products for Marks & Spencer and McDonalds. That environment demanded consistency, continuous improvement and extremely high standards in quality, and health and safety. That experience has proven invaluable for Damian in his role at Crown.
During the past seven years, Damian completed several projects for Crown's relocation and records management businesses. This includes managing the construction of a Crown facility, several expansion projects for the records centres and high-security vaults. In his current role as quality development manager in Kuala Lumpur, he is responsible for facility management including health, safety and security. He also plays a key role in operations development and training, and ensuring quality standards and efficiency levels.
Since he began working in Kuala Lumpur, the office has twice received the Branch of the Year award, several Quality awards, the Outstanding Achievement award for records management and the HR award for investing in People. He was an important figure in the development and roll-out of Crown's health and safety policy in Asia and he continues to support other locations regionally with health and safety, facilities management and training. Damian is also an HIV/AIDS trainer and champion under the Crown-SCB global initiative to raise awareness.
