Having over 7 years of experience in the Health, Safety and Quality management field, Edward joined Crown Records Management in March 2007 in the position of Health, Safety and Quality Manager for Crown UK and Ireland, where he is responsible for designing and implementing a Health and Safety (H&S) Management system specifically targeted to suit Crown's business and comply with local legislation requirements.
His key responsibilities include the roll out of the H&S management system, providing the site supervisors, business managers and directors with the company’s health and safety manual and to explain their responsibilities under the new system.
Part of Edward’s key targets is to have the UK & Ireland facilities ready to begin internal health and safety management system audits in 2008 and in addition, he is planning to gain accreditation from the OHSAS 18001 standards.
Originally with a military background, Edward served the Royal Navy all over the world. He also spent 16 years in the Middle East and worked as an aeronautical engineer for a company called International Aeradio Ltd. (IAL) who latterly became part of SERCO Ltd. While in this position he was asked to take on the quality management system and managed the transition from the ISO 9001:1994 standard to the ISO 9001:2000 standard.
When returning from the Middle East to England, he took a position with DHL GlobalMail, introducing a health and safety management system from scratch across their eleven sites. This was successfully completed within a year and after two years with DHL he joined Crown Records Management.
He is a member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Managers (MIIRSM) and a graduate of the Institute of Safety and Health (IOSH).
