ISO 14001:2004 Certification
Crown has established policies to secure the ISO 14001 or comparable environmental accreditations in three of its biggest markets – Hong Kong, Australia and the UK, with other worldwide locations now following suit. The company’s target is for 100% of country operations to achieved accreditation, within the next two to five years, based on consistent company-wide policies. Within that time frame, the company aims to achieve carbon neutral services in a way that is operationally and cost-effective.
The ISO 14001 is a worldwide Environmental Management System (EMS) recognition that is given to organizations that demonstrate a reduced impact on the environment. The certification exists to help organizations minimize how their operations negatively affect the environment, cause adverse changes to air, water, or land and also to comply with local laws and regulations.
Crown is one of the first international relocation companies to seek and earn this environmental certification, and is encouraging service partners and suppliers within the industry to do the same. The systematic ISO 14001:2004 approach requires the organization to take a hard look at all areas where its activities have an environmental impact. And it can lead to benefits like the following:
