A Green Week in Kuala Lumpur

In conjunction with World Environment Day on June 5, 2009, the team at Crown Kuala Lumpur dedicated an entire week to the environment, and each day, the staff participated in a different activity.

A Green Week in Kuala Lumpur

Monday: Staff members wore green to work to show their support.

Tuesday: Staff members who were able to, car pooled to work to reduce harmful carbon emissions.

Wednesday: Each department planted a tree in the front lawn of the facility, to help purify the air.

Thursday: Each department adopted a plant to care for and nurture, also to help purify the air.

Friday: Staff members were encouraged to sort the garbage at their homes and dispose of it at the recycle collection bins provided at the Crown facility.

Table top and potted plants became permanent fixtures in the office to encourage the "green team" to adopt the habit of planting. Other activities included using cartons made of recycled paper and recycled bags instead of plastic bags.

Throughout the week, the entire staff watched the "An Inconvenient Truth," a 2006 documentary film presented by former United States Vice President Al Gore–an eye opening documentary depicting Al Gore's efforts to educate the public about the severity of the climate crisis and what individuals can do to reverse its effects.

Well done Kuala Lumpur Green Team!
