View from the Board: No Place to Hide
When I first became involved in the offsite "File Storage" industry sector over 20 years ago, it was a simple business, primarily driven by the economics of releasing expensive city office space for more important use.
My, how things have changed! Not just in terms of the variety and complexity of the services that comprise "Information Management" today, but the geographic reach of the need to "get it right."
In this edition, you will read about a recent project in Botswana, driven by the client’s need to comply with current legislation and audit. Crown is also having a conversation with a major West African government who admit their official records are a mess. The fact that this is acknowledged, and a solution being sought, is yet another indication that there is no place to hide in the globalisation and accountability of information.
Likewise, RM professionals are being challenged to constantly upgrade the storage environment with better facilities, equipment, security and recovery programs. Health & safety implementation is a cornerstone in constantly improving the working environment, and embedded within the quality process. No place to hide. You will glean from our UK example that Crown is committed to this philosophy too.
At Crown, we listen to our customers, offer a personal service and would love to receive your feedback on this publication. Tell us what you like to read about, and our worldwide team will deliver. Please email our Editor at ddaplas@crownworldwide.com.
If you need further information about our services, our worldwide footprint or the cost/benefit of your data storage strategy, please contact us here.
