Record Retention Obligations for Business in Philippines

In the Philippines, under the amended RR 17-2013 and RR 5-2014 regulated by the Bureau of Internal Revenue Philippines, all accounting-related records of a business in the Philippines must be preserved and retained for at least 10 years.

Within the first 5 years, hard copies must be retained; thereafter, they can be kept electronically via electronic accounting systems that are compliant with relevant regulations.

As for any business registration and employment records are required to be kept for at least 3 years:

  4. Employee medical records
  5. SEC and DTI document
